African Braids Hair Care
by julie
Braids are nice especially those african braids or micro braids.
They are very trendy.
However some particular care must be taken during the time you have them on your head.
To keep them as long as three weeks is an exploit.
You need Nioxin Moisture and Strenght complex to prevent itchyness and hair breakage, Nioxin Cleanser to remove dirt on your hair.
Shea butter does remove itchyness or your scalp. Available in most drugstores or hair salons.
People braiding with wet hair, some with dry hair. I prefer wet hair. Also when I braid hair I do not look at the strand. Doing like this, my neck does not become tired, and my braids look identical and have the same tension.
Cheap transparent elastics at the end of the strands do not stay, they break easily. Get the rubber elastics.
Sleep with a net to keep your braids lasting longer, and prevent fuzzyness of the african braids.
Pricing and braid service :
Thickness of the african braid: 1/8 inch. Cost for each one is about $1.00 each for shoulder lenght.
Full head could take five hours for medium lenght. Any hair extensions will add time and money too. Natural Hair is better than synthetic.
There are different patterns available:
Horizontal boxes, Diagonal boxes ( each could be inclined towards the front or towards the back ).
For pony tail, we recommend diagonal boxes inclined towards the back.
