Old Razors Are Better

Close shave could be achieved in different ways:
using electric razors or old fashion razors.
Old straight razors like Griffon need dexterity and technique. Other razors handle with rectangular blades make close shave. Their advantage is that they are really cheap to buy.
And you have the ones with a special handle (many popular brands on the market could be found in drugstores, grocery stores).
What makes the razor blades lasting longer ?
The shaving cream that has no Stearic Acid or Alcohol will keep your blades longer and stay sharper for more shaves.
What acid does to steel blade ? It makes them doll. If you want to scrap scissors, put them in alcool and you will scrap the sharpening.
Stearic acid is found in foam cream.
The amount of blades you are using in your cartridge does it mean that this could do a better shave than a straight razor. Ask this question to your barber that is using strop for sharpening his razor.
